Wattle infection - help!

Hi, I noticed on one of my hens yesterday that her wattle on one side is inflamed. Please see photo. It looks like some kind of "hole" / scare from piercing or infection of a bite on the outer side of the wattle combined with swelling (see second photo). She is perfectly fine in terms of eating etc and she is certainly not impressed at being put a coop. She is in the coop so i can separate her from the flock and give antibiotics.

I would be truly grateful if anyone can suggest what the problem might be and what i should do about it.

Since my initial post this morning, i have noticed the development of some scabs around the beak area - we have / are having a heck of a rainy season here in Kenya and from what i have seen i would imagine that it is fowl pox (lots of mosquitoes around). Guess i will just have to give her some TLC and hope for the best (assuming my diagnosis is correct). I am giving her antibiotics (to help fight secondary infections and will start with vitamin supplements also).

With lots of mosquitoes there will be good chances of getting pox. Swelling in the wattles can sometimes be a result of pecking, a tick or insect sting, fowl cholera infection, and coryza. Hi I have a rooster that got a scratch on his wattle from fighting with his son, and it's scabbed over and isn't puffy, but it is hot. Could there be an infection? And what should I do to treat the infection? Thanks.

Never mind. It turned out that is wasn't infected and is healing fine.
