Yesterday I was out taking care of the chickens when my little rooster-to-be (he is only 14 weeks old - Jersey Giant) decided to try to mate with my very willing 9 month old BO. She squatted and he got so excited that he actually jumped on her back, then as an after thought went to grab her head feathers but ended up doing a somersault over the top of her head. She got so mad at him that she attacked him. To add insult to injury, the other hens saw his performance and chased him too, if he got to close. Poor baby, I know he will eventually get it down pat and they won't laugh at him anymore.
