Ways to make a hen go broody

Honestly? Nothing. They are either going to or not going to. It's just as difficult to MAKE them broody as to BREAK one that is broody. Sorry.
That's what I sort of feared. Just hoping I guess. My 'broody' Wyandotte who spent last night in the nest box turned out to be going through a one night thing, which stinks. I guess I will have to just wait it out

lol I feel your pain! I had a single pullet go broody probably before she had even laid a dozen eggs. YAY right? We had no roo so ordered her some eggs to set. YAY again right?! Well, since then not a single broody in sight.... and we carry between 20-30 pullets!!!! :barnie

It never seems to work out the way you want it to. Last year, my fat Buff was broody for months. But we didn't need any more chicks than the 8 we already had. Now that I want some, she is being a normal hen
