If you give it to them regularly, the worms will grow immune to the killer, and it will be useless.

Was told to do 2x a year

It is better to get a vet to run a float test twice a year. If the chickens are in a clean environment they may not get worms

any treatment for worms can be harsh on the birds, especially if not needed. Best to have vet do a fecal check. If worms are present he can tell you exactly what to use and correct dosage.
