I've seen where some folks are still looking for the dewormer Wazine that was discontinued. Well today I ran into this at my local Walmart and decided I would share.

Looking at the label it is 50 mg/ml Piperazine base as Piperazine Citrate. It is weaker than Wazine and would require a fair amount more of a dose. It is $2.97 for 4 fl oz.

One of my books says this:

Using that cat product, the dose would be ~1 ml to ~5ml per pound of body weight.
1 / 2.2 x 100 (mg per kg) / 50 (mg per ml) = 0.909 ml
1 / 2.2 x 500 (mg per kg) / 50 (mg per ml) = 4.54 ml

Thank you so much! So I dose their water and her directly today. I found a poop (probably hers) with four dead and or dying worms this evening. Yuck. I’m not sure if I found a small worm under her egg yolk membrane today but it looks like it. I hope not because we’ve been eating them. I put it under the microscope and I truly can’t tell there either.

Nobody’s poop piles had anything in it that I could see under the roost this morning so I followed them around for a while after their initial meal and water. Only one little worm this morning in her poop. I’ve gone back in many times to clean, inspect. I’m expecting a mass of them. I removed the medicated water and marked all the eggs with an X On the air sac side, covered them in the usual mineral oil and put them in a separate container in the fridge. I have about eight dozen right now so that should at least get us through for a while, it’s just the two of us. If not, I’ll cross that X’ed egg bridge when I get to it.
