We almost ran over a killer

or that the raccoon totaled your car! A co-worker just had her 2010 Mustang repaired; her husband hit a raccoon in the road. It's a low-nosed car (squats even more when you jam on the brakes) and the coon took out the radiator/bumpers and rolled up the hood and broke the windshield. If the car hadn't been almost new, the insurance company probably would have totaled it out. All together over $5K in damage.

and raccoon may not taste like chicken, but it's not too bad

Our big dog got killed by a buck recently. We tried putting one of the smaller dogs out last night (35lbs MinPin not fat just over grown) Belle did a good job last night guarding the yard. We have gotten all but 5 of the chickens trained to go into the coops at night now. The 5 hold outs still insist in going up in the tree. Tomorrow before we let the chickens out of the coops we are going to try to round up the hold outs after they come down in the morning so we can lock them up in one of the coops for a few days and hopefully they will get the idea, that is what we did with the rest of the flock. The help and the humor here has been helpful.​
