We are apparently chick(en) magnets...

This time a rooster has shown up. We think he's a stray also, when we were trying to find the owners of our white chicken, a couple of people told my husband that there was a rooster running free in the woods nearby, and he apparently finally tracked down the hens.

So... he looks kind of like a Golden Phoenix but not quite, so I'm hoping you guys can help us figure it out.

He seems pretty mild-mannered--he's skittish but wasn't the least bit aggressive towards us or our cats, and he's busily establishing himself as boss of our hens, but he's really being gentle with them, and already guided a couple of them to the cracked corn we'd laid down for him.

Nice guy u got there! Be careful though, someone recently found a rooster around their house and the rooster killed a hen. Good luck!

Also you might wanna check for any kind of pests he might bring in to your chickens like lice!

He seems very healthy and good-natured, we've checked him out as much as possible for the moment and are watching for lice and mites--we have the powder for those if need be.
