I was thinking that (in addition to finding a place!) it would be helpful to do a roll-call that includes either what we're bringing or what we're hoping to find. Doing so could attract more members, and let us newbies know what to expect. Creating this master-list would be more efficient than asking back-and-forth, "is anybody bringing this or that?" Do these gatherings tend to be huge? Tiny? I have no idea. Since I'm up in central VA, I'm looking at a long drive and it would be really useful to know how many other people will be there and if I'm likely to find what I'm looking for, etc!
To start with, I'm not bringing anything but am hoping to find a few (3) Buff Orps or RIRs to start my very first flock.
I am definitely interested in this if I can get off work. Is there a master list of folks that can be notified when the date/time/place is set in stone?
Ok as far as place, Burlington seems to be a go. I spoke with the assistant manager and as far as she know it would be fine for us to use their parking lot but she wants me to talk to the manager to make sure. He is out of town til Friday and I'll give him a call then.
Please PM if you plan to attend and what you plan on bringing to sell. If you can let me know before Friday so I can let the manager know an estimated number.
Have we decided on a time? I was thinking 9:00 - 1:00 and have a picnic lunch during/after or we could all meet at Golden Corral just down the road. If you want I will call and reserve a room for us like last time.
