One of the Leghorns laid her first egg yesterday she is 19 weeks and 4 days

I am so amazed at how exciting the first egg is.

Congrats! It is exciting. I still get excited at egg collection time and some of mine have been laying for a month!

One of my favorite chores each day is "egg patrol". Going out from pen to pen to see if there are any precious eggs awaiting my collection. I absolutely love it. Probably why I do it so often. Haha

With 18 hens that are 22 weeks old, we still only have 6 hens laying so we are still getting, "first eggs from the rest".

Can't wait until we are getting a dozen a day.
