We did it....Eggs!!!!!

Well we are on a clock, just about every 30 hours these 2 girls each lay an egg. Both started small size, one is still the same small size but the other is about the size of a large egg. Plus not a spec of dirt or anything on the eggs. Such good girls they clean their eggs before we get them

Well this morning was awakened be a lot of chicken talk. We got our first eggs. Yes eggs. The confusing part is one chicken making a ton of noise but found 2 eggs in the same box. So two different chickens or a double header. Look at the picks identical size and color and both warm. We have an ROI of 2 eggs for 3K. Lol. But these gals are the best therapy.

Usually chickens favor one of two boxes, so I am not surprised. lol

Hadn't heard a good explanation until I saw a documentary that showed why chickens do this. In the wild, a hen going to her egg laying spot gets escorted by one of the flock's roosters who will keep an eye out for predators. When the hen is finished laying, she sings the "egg song" to let the rooster know it is time to escort her back to the flock area.
