we got these 45 day old chicks yesterday a lavender orpington then 3 lavender orpington and gold laced wyandotte mixes

They wanted $15 for each but really wanted to not come home with animals so we got 4 for $20

They’re beautiful! Are you sure about the ages? That would mean 6 1/2 weeks old.

It doesn’t really matter, other than when you start itching for eggs.😁 And even then, they follow their own timetable.

This is how our last batch looked at this age, are we doing something wrong with our chicks? The other ones are 7 months old now is this how they are supposed to look now im worried

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong but I think the seller may have been trying to sell them for more money by exaggerating their ages. I have 4 week old chicks that are completely feathered out. Yours look to be two weeks old at most

Edit to add: at six weeks old, yours should be feathered out enough to be off heat. That is clearly not the case.
