Knocked most of it out in one day. Got a bit delayed due to rain...but overall, it came out great and the girls have given it their seal of approval! (excuse the ugly orange paint. It was a $6 oops can at the hardware store!

From inside:

Looks good! As you can see from my pic, I also have to get the nesting boxes on, but since they are only 8+ weeks old, my next priority is their run, then I'll do the nesting boxes.

Nice! The coop looks really good! What did you use for siding? I really like the look of that! That's our next venture. We need to get it buttoned up. It's had the tyvek on since the fall. And then we have to re-do our run. It's an old dog pen that's seen better days.

I was all excited tho. My girls used the nest boxes! We had adopted this flock and they are now almost 3yrs old. They did not have egg boxes at their previous place and would pretty much lay any and everywhere. So, I actually trained them with a couple of pieces of plywood just leaned up against the coop wall.

It worked! They laid in the boxes on the first day! Wahoo!!!

Congrats on getting the girls to use the nesting boxes.

The siding is rough-cut eastern yellow pine boards about 1" thick that I bought from a local guy who has a saw mill. I like that rustic look. I am probably going to stain it Barn Red. I hope by the time I get my run built, my girls aren't too old to use it!

This weekend I am going to make a small temporary run so I can get them outside more.
