Okay, so we almost got the coops done!
Here is what I planned and hubby did most of the work!
I have a fenced in back yard for my little poodles and told him I wanted the coop put in the fenced in back yard so that "if" anything tried to invade they would have to go thru 2 fences to get to the chickens!
My friend had gave me a newer dog Kennel. I seen where some had used dog kennel's on here as coops. So I had my husband built a coop at the end of the dog kennel for the chickens. We recycled everything execpt the chicken wire. I still need to do some painting on it but everything is ready to be used when needed. We put wire on top of the cage and tin with spray foam around the holes so nothing could climb over in it. along the bottom, we sat the kennel on rubber belting he had got from the rock quarry, nothing gonna be able to dig around or under the kennel. And we also put chicken wire around the inside of the kennel so nothing could stick their head thru the wire. So far I'm pretty pleased and will be going around it again to make sure NOTHING will be able to get in with the chickens!
I will post pictures soon of everything. It's not the Hilton of Chicken coops, but it will work for our first Chicken coop! So excited, should be a home to some little chickies pretty soon!
