We got our first egg too!

Yesterday my dark cornish Gladis layed our first egg! My son Chris was in the coop when she layed it and came running up, "MOM! We got an egg!" He was sooo excited to be there when she layed it. I let him eat the egg (scrambled) for lunch. It was small, but perfectly shaped. I cannot believe how cool it is to have our very first egg. Here is a picture of Gladis' egg. Sorry the quality is poor, it was taken with my cell phone.

Thanks. We are now going to be checking even more than we already were! I have a SLW who has been jumping in and out of the nest box a lot lately too. Just when we all thought they were all duds, lol!
