We got our First Egg!!!!!

Finally after 25 weeks and 3 days I walked into the coop and found the most beautiful little pullet egg!

I am so excited and my 4 year old daughter thinks it's the coolest thing in the world! I couldn't take the picture fast enough to get it on here!!

Here it is our cute pullet egg next to a store bought large egg!

How eggciting! I just love to see small children's reactions to eggs in the nest. Congrats!

ETA: Missed the question. They can be a bit sporatic about laying at first. SHe could lay again tomorrow, or she may skip a day to two. Are there more pullets in the same age? Others may start soon too.

Congratulations! It took 6 days for my second egg to appear. Hope yours comes faster than that!

After our 1st egg on Sunday we were fortunate to get another Monday, and then 2 today!! Definitely 2 different girls, not so sure if there is a 3rd. All 10 are 22 weeks and with the exception of 2 all appear likely candidates for laying now.

I must share...On Monday my 15 year old daughter waited almost all afternoon (daddy finally took her to Starbucks for a change of scenery!) and was rewarded at 4:30 when the white chicken stood up and she heard something plop onto the floor of the nesting box! That was egg #2!! She was also out there today when one of the RIR got up and left the box, leaving an egg behind!

This is all so ridiculously exciting!! I'm sure my friends think I'm out of my mind to be so excited over eggs!!
