We got our first eggs!

My wife found 4 eggs in the coop last night.( Picts are in chicken pictures) Isn't it kind of early for them to start? They were born march 29 or 30.
We just started feeding them egg layer on Sat. and got eggs on tuesday. Should I start giving oyster shells? Is there anything else We should start feeding them?

yes, you should be feeding oyster shells, vegies, fruit, mealworms and lots of love for giving you those eggs

Yay for first eggs!!! And 19 weeks is early, but some start as earl as 17 or 18 weeks, while I have two bantams who STILL aren't laying at 23 and 24 weeks

I think the average is probably around 21 or 22 weeks. Lucky you guys!! Layer feed should contain all the calcium they need, but it doesn't hurt to keep oyster shell in a container for them to pick up if they feel the need.
