We got Quail!

I started a year ago ; I'm sure I'll continue raising quail into the foreseeable future. They really are a perfect complement to sustainable gardening. Now if only I could get my mom to stop taking compost as soon as it's ready.

Good luck with your new endeavor. I hope it continues to bring you joy too.

I also just went out to check on them and found that Luna has “poo balls” on the tops of her long toes. Luckily they aren’t to bad, but I will clean them before they get worse.
Just a quick update: I did clean her feet, it came off nice and easy. Tonight I will check the others when they’re still and won’t run away.

Thank you. I knew that they most likely would stop laying for a few weeks, it happened with my chickens to. I am hoping that I might be able to get an egg or two, but I won’t be upset if it doesn’t happen.
I have gotten three eggs so far. I can’t wait to try them, I’ve never had quail eggs :)

Nice. My family turned their noses up for the first month or so but now they love them. Haven't bought an egg in over a year.
We also don’t buy eggs. I recently got shipped Quail eggs and 2 were cracked. Someone suggested I clean out chicken eggs, transplant the egg fetuses, And try to incubate them, and I was like, I haven’t bought chicken eggs in a year, it’s against my alignment now haha.

How does she have birth defects? Do they matter if I’m not planning on breeding her?
He's just picking at the name. There is nothing messed up with that one.
