We don't need a building permit because it's under 120 square feet (per our town ordinances) however we had a county guy show up and tell us we need a zoning permit. Well, it's being built as a portable building....but he says so many people try to get around getting a zoning permit by "saying" it's portable but leaving it in one spot. Well, we want to reserve the right to move it.... because I'm not 100% I want to keep it where we're putting it (we're building it in the front yard, but would be moving it to where we intend to put it for now, so obviously weren't trying to HIDE anything!).
Anyway....lotsa people telling us we're being jerked around... so we're on hold while we figure this zoning permit out.... ugh.
Meanwhile, the chicks are getting bigger and bigger and need their coop! I've been unable to find homes for the roosters.....but still trying!
My issue is, we get the diagrams all figured out, pay the money for the zoning permit, etc etc, then decide to move it, and have to do this all over again......... we are making it portable for a reason. To have the option to move it. If any of you women are like me......I change my mind a lot! LOL
Anyway, I'm frustrated with the whole thing....and my excitement over the skeleton of the new chicken coop in the front yard is gone.....for now......
