Here is a little better pic. The extra leg is fused on top/beside the leg on the left of the picture. It has one toe, and a little line of feathers going down the leg (as our Marans do). I have to say, I'm a little suprised, but it is actually getting around pretty well, eating, and drinking- acting like the rest of those fuzzy butts. It also has a great personality!! LOL! I actually hope it is a roo, as it can be part of our *eating egg* flock (we only eat their eggs- no chance of any of it's genes getting out) and I worry if it is a hen she might have problems? I wonder what he/she looks like on the inside! I'll update this every once in a while so you guys can see what happens!!
I also wanted to say that the blindess in that side doesn't seem to be as big a deal as I thought (just never had that issue before!)! The things we learn with having chickens!!
hope the little tropper makes it he seems healthy having extra apendages is not quite as rare as you think it is there are quite a few scorpions with two tailes and most make it to adulthood if they don't have molting problems so i think this lettle chick has a good fighting chance
after my dad walk by ehe says "hmm hit it with a hammer
