On the property, not as a pet.
Our neighbor stopped by today. This is the farmer that keeps cows and a few beehives on our place. He showed us one of his beehives that was totally destroyed. He said there were bear paw prints all around the "scene of the crime" and the hive itself has huge claw marks on it.
Glad to know that bears are coming back to this part of the state.

Also VERY glad to know about them beforehand.

We had a bear about 10 miles south of here once. Confirmed via tracks by the DNR.

Waiting to see if more Mountian Lions are confirmed. Lord knows there's enough deer to sustain them.

Imp- Really annoyed that I used that smilie

BTW- Grit, Stay calm and safe. Grew up in bear country. Walked up on them several times, even mamas & cubs. Never had a problem. Moose on the other hand. Was stalked by one in Anchorage.

Of course you were stalked by a moose! You're such a cute Impy, even a moose couldn't resist your charms.

Kat - used that smiley to make you feel better about it.

now see THAT is scary to me... Bears are scary! sheesh... I'd be camped out with one hell big gun 24 hours a day if I knew they were around!!!!

A lot of tourists (particularly Americans) get worried when they come to Australia about our dangerous animals.... spiders, snakes, jellyfish etc......

I tell you what! at least our dangerous animals are not big enough to rip you apart!!!!!

A bear walked up on my grandmother when she was in her garage getting bird food one day. She said it was just a few feet from her before it got scared and ran off. Be Careful!
