We also have a rooster in the flock...so I may seperate him out for a few days...However you feel works best for you letting the momma raise the chicks
I would, my rooster has killed 2 chicks this spring. He is a new roo and he is still very young and inexperienced but now he is doing a lot better he doesn't kill the chicks anymore. We also have a rooster in the flock...so I may seperate him out for a few days...
Definitely will seperate him in the run that I talked about...if the hens can do well with the other hens...hope all goes smoothly...I would, my rooster has killed 2 chicks this spring. It was on day 7 and it was the fertile one in the picture on my last post. The eggs are really dirty. I moved her out for now to let her move around. And then I cleaned off the yolk on some of the eggs. There are some that are really dirty. Not sure if I should wash them or leave them. I also have moved the 5 eggs on day 14 into my incubator (I don’t want those to break). And the other 5 that are left, I moved to a different nest right next to her original nest. I then switched the hay out and blocked off her original nest.
