Congratulations on that first egg! I bet when you were deciding to get chickens you never thought it was to help with the "birds & bees talk", now did you, lol.
It takes about 24-26 hours for a chicken to produce an egg from beginning to end. So if you got that first egg at 6am yesterday, you might not see another one until 8am the next day. That's just a generalization though, there are variances.
