We have an egg!!

I went to the yard this morning and there were only 3 or the 4 girls in the run. Lucy was still in the coop. I went over and she was sitting in one of the nest boxes...ON TOP OF A LOVELY BROWN EGG!!

I am so excited. I was beginning to think this day was never coming. It is a beautiful egg, sort of speckled, and nice and warm...I am one happy woman right now!

Yes it is our first! Lucy is 23 weeks old. We had a long chat yesterday and she must have listened. They get an extra treat today! I cannot believe how excited I am!!

Congrats! I still remember my first egg. I was like you...absolutely could NOT wait until the first! My brother was with me, and I flipped up the nest box lid and practically screamed that I had an egg! He didn't believe me until I showed him, then rolled his eyes. They just don't understand!

YOU are one luck-E-Duck to get a warm one! I work full time, and rarely get a warm one. It's a wonderful feeling, and I can tell you it's exciting EVERY time I get an egg, even after a couple months of them!
