We have an egg!!

I went out this morning to replenish food and water, and when I opened the door, there sat an egg! The little stinker (don't know which one did it) didn't bother to use the nest boxes, even though I have the little fake eggs in them.

What a wonderful solstice present! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Don't worry about the nesting box thing. It takes them a bit to control the laying. I have had challenges with several of my girls (in terms of where they lay), some of them quite elaborate, but they've all come around eventually.

Actually, that's not exactly true. In three cases, I actually created new nests, outside the coop, to accommodate the wishes of my girls. I am such a pushover. Hey, if you can't beat 'em...
