After a very tense couple of days, our chicks were delivered! To the wrong post office, but still, they made it!!!

The "crazy chicken lady" box from Cackle is supposed to contain 12 different breeds, plus one extra chick. We actually got 14. All were alive, and all have been eating and drinking since we got them home and into the brooder about an hour ago.

I'm so excited 😊

What a beautiful mix of chicks. Keep an eye on there butts to make sure their vents are kept clean. We started giving shipped chicks electrolytes the first day or two to help with the stress of their travel. Have fun and enjoy watching your little ones grow.

Thank you! They had quite the trip, so I went ahead and put some electrolytes in their water. I did a vent check on each when I unpacked them and will keep a close eye on that.

The chickies are 5 days old today, and all of them have survived! We were concerned about the littlest one for a day or two, but she is doing so much better now. For the moment, her name is Little Bit. She's brave and feisty and usually the first one to run to a hand put in the brooder. (Don't you dare break my heart and tell me it sounds like she's a boy! 😂)

They're beginning to show some personality, I think. Some are wild and run in top of everyone else while sleeping. Some have to be in the middle of everything. Some are shy, some are bold. It's so much fun just to sit and watch their antics! They've also grown a lot in just 2 days - I didn't expect it to be that noticeable.

(Don't worry, they were only in this box for a couple of minutes. I have to put them somewhere else after I check their vents, or I'd miss someone, lol. Their brooder is much bigger.)

I had to go to work and leave them today... I'd much rather have stayed home!!
