Hello everyone,
Happy to have found a site with so much information. We inherited 4 chicks. This may sound silly but we have two yellows and two black ones. I believe that we have the Buff Orpington and Black Australorp? Anyone care to comment?
We are building a coop and are using some ideas from your coops (THANK YOU). I would like to know do you feed them inside the coop or outside? and why?
The coop design so far is about 36" off the ground with a ladder going in - a spot for wire mesh - 6 nesting boxes - and underneath will have chicken wire and the run will be 4 feet long with a cover to keep the hawks out.
We have another week of work before the girls can move in so any and all suggestions for first time chick mom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
MJ
