We have feathers!!

Sorry I haven't posted back...I don't have the internet at my house yet, since civilization has yet to reach it....

My RIR are sporting tail feathers, full wing feathers, and some short ones on their backs. My Australorps are a little lacking, but do have full wing feathers, and my Leghorns are keeping up with the RIR's. They are all very funny, and are starting to roost. Forget the dowel rods, they like their water containers. Funny little girls...

This is so true! My peepers are less than a week old, but I can see changes in them every day. The silkies are a few days older, so they have the most feathers, but the rest are all the same age as far as I know. The Arcaunas (aka chipmunks) are growing some really respectable wing feathers, and one is beginning to grow a tiny tail. Then come the RI Reds with some small wing feathers, then the silver Wyandottes and Barred Rocks, and finally, the (I think) Buff Orps with just tiny feather beginnings. Fascinating to watch!

Pixiechic, we have almost the same mix of chicks! In addition, I have 2 golden comets and 2 speckled sussex. My Aracaunas are the biggest ones so far which really surprised me. I thought they would be little and dainty!

My RIR's are growing the fastest it seems...I just can't keep up with them. Not to mention that they are eating me out of house and home right now. It's crazy, it's like they are eating miracle grow or something. AHHHHH!!!
