We have our first egg!!!

That won't be good because her eggs are so tiny!!!
They'll get much bigger. Pullet eggs are almost tiny.

You don’t name your chickens? All the chickens I’ve had so far were only pets with benefits, so they all got names.
I grew up with 100 layers, pheasant, cattle, hogs and horses. Only a few of the horses and the registered cattle had names.
As an adult, when I got my first chickens I had to plan on an end game so wouldn't name them. When pressed by people for names I told them things like Christmas dinner, Easter dinner and Bar-b-cue.
After over 30 breeds/varieties of chickens that were fairly easy to tell apart, I now have about 70 chickens of all the same breed and color. It would be impossible to name more than a handful of all black chickens so I'm glad I never did it.
They do, in effect, all have names. They all have numbered leg bands.
2017 birds have yellow leg bandettes 1-100. This year's hatchlings will be orange 1-100. 2019 will be green. 2020 will be blue. 2021 = white.
I can tell the age of a bird from afar by legband color.
Roos white 15 and yellow 47 are my favorites.:lau
