I just picked up 3 little SLW from a friend.. We are so excited... I "think" based on coloring.. we have 2 hens and a roo BUT.. is there any way to really tell (feather sexing??) or is it like the RIR and NHR.. time will tell.. LOL

SO excited and once I get my camera battery charged.. photos will be up!

born this week... one is 3 days old, the other is 2 days old and the last is 1 day old

You can't tell that young from their coloring. Usually the first way to tell is when the little roos combs start showing red.

Ooh.. I have 8 SLW, and noticed the other day that one has a particularly bright red comb while all the other girls have more pink.. I'm guessing I've got a roo on my hands... hmm.. he is 9 weeks and no crowing yet.. Any thoughts?

Pictures always help, but bright red at that age definately equals a roo.
