We have too many chickens

We are new to chickens and started with too many. We have 11 and need to get rid of about 6. Too many roosters. Anyone living in southwest Michigan want a few chickens that are probably roosters?

I found a butcher to take the chickens. Should I keep one rooster or just the hens? I have a large rooster who has not been mean to the girls, but he could change right? I need to simplify this chicken business. What should I do? Taking them today.

actually if free range a rooster is good to have he will keep watch while the girls forage and defend them if something was to try for them plus warns them of danger. and if you want chicks in the future.

You won't need to keep a rooster unless you are wanting fertilized eggs. Hens will do fine without a rooster.

So, I gave 6 of the roosters away and kept 1, Bartholemew. I was chasing them all around yesterday in the rain, spewing superlatives as I did, and when I got to him I couldn't put him in the box. So now we have 4 hens and 1 roo. We'll see how this goes.
