We made our own egg-u-bator! eggs in 9:40am 3/13, THEY HATCHED!!!!!

ok verdict of day 9.5 candling

Easter egger - started with 7.... looks like 2 are iffy, but their sooo dark. all I could see was the air sac, a dark area and a light area on all of them. so kept them all

Bantum eggs (not sure if their brahma or silkie) all were wigglin little fools

and we bought some brown farm fresh eggies from our small store added them 2 days later
10 set, 3 look bad. but I kept everything in there and I'm going to look again on day 13 (Thursday night) which is these eggs day 11
I think they had a blood ring, but being my first time. I haven't a clue. They did have the air sac, dark area, light area. But I couldn't see movement and my eyes were ready to go buggy.

so 17 out of 22 is pretty good. These little GALS will put us WAY over of limit.

eggs went to grandma and grandpa's for this past weekend as we were gone. I will check a few tonight to see if they survived the ordeal. It should have been a problem though.

I have found out that the bantam eggs in there are indeed brahma, cause our silkies just started laying again after a broody spell. so I set those eggs aside and will wait to see if one of my silkies goes broody with in the week, if not, into the incubator they will go.

Boy am I slacking here! We went into Lockdown last Wed. and now have had chicks hatching ever since.

total count as of now goes like this.....
22 eggs went in the egg-u-bator 19 went into lockdown, 1 went

had to be removed it was leaking, 14 hatched (5 brahmaXs, 4 Easter egger Xs, 5 store boughts) 4 eggs left waiting to see if anything happens. I'll give them a couple days.

13 of the chicks are loving their new digs in the brooder box that is WAY to big of them. but they got everything they need.

the 14th one is taking some "ME" time in the 'bator it just hatched this a.m. and the others were picking on him/hopefully her so they went to the brodder box.
