We need to talk about Max 😂

Soooo Max has developed this very odd behaviour towards me. I thought it was aggression as I'd put in 3 other friends for him (all silver types all turned out male) but now I think its more amorous moves

I've attached a video of this behaviour ... quail owners tell me ur thoughts. Is Max hitting on me? His pecks don't hurt tho u can see a bruise on the back of my hand from yesterday when he hung on to me ... for quite a long time.

Do I need to have the talk with him? The its not you it me conversation? U can see he literally runs to me and this behaviour is every time I put my hand in his den. And if I get him out he jumps at my face. He makes this whoomp whoomp sound while doing it and almost crows at me.

Seriously tho, will he settle once I've chosen a female for him? He's not alone in his den. He has 3 other boys in there n doesn't make any of these moves on them. Just me.

I hate break ups ... theyre so messy

Hmm. I'm not familiar with those. But I would agree it's not looking like aggression. My coturnix act like that when they're hungry

He would prefer to do the above and ignore mealworms I've just put in for them so I don't think it's hunger for food xx

Mating pecks all the males I hand raised still like to be picked up and stuff and if I wiggle my fingers at them they try to hump them or grab them
