We Need Your Input! 4 Season Duck Coop & Run Construction Suggestions & Photos

Those are wonderful photos. I think it's hilarious to see them sticking to their breed groups. Love that photo of the Pekins in the straw. They all look extremely happy and well cared for.

I bet that's also a great photo of your dog, duck and cucumber :) Looking forward to seeing that when you get a digital version.

Thanks, guys. Thanks to all of you for your ideas too. Here the Pekin got up on the deck.... which is no small feat with their short, stocky legs. The Campbells can sneak up much more easily.

YEAH!!!!! Straaaawwwww!

Ahhhhh..... nap time.....again

Hey, how come the Pekin are hogging the pools again? Ah..... nap time yet again....

They all tend to self segregate by flock..... The poor Runners tried to desperately to join any flock. They are most integrated with the Campbells. There persistence finally paid off.

Do any of your ducks go CA-RA-ZY over fresh hay or straw? My Campbells and Runners make excited chattering quacking noises and the Pekin make this happy honking noise.

oh my goodness are they ever cute! we don't give ours hay/straw... we feed a grass hay here to the horses and they have plenty of grass to get too so i don't think they'd care all that much.

I only used some straw the one winter HATED IT won't be doing that again.. yuck. As for hay, honestly never thought about giving them any, they have access to grass which they happily tear at everyday.

I have a very soft, fluffy type here for the horses(grass hay) i may try it for the wintertime when all the grass is gone though.

Today we were going a back way to TSC from the town we had just left. And there is a lake there I mentioned to my dh lets stop and see if we can pick up a few ducks just kidding of course, we'll we get to the lake and Oh my gosh there are Pekin ducks there, gorgeous ducks that someone has dumped off. It broke my heart to think that at one time they belonged to someone and now they have to fend for themselves to find food. The Pekins weren't the only domestic duck there but they just stood out they were so big and beautiful. I told my husband I never want to go that way again it was too sad.
