We built a coop, enclosed a huge run, and enclosed all of it with fencing and chicken wire even up and over the top.
We went to buy 3 Sexlink chicks and came home with 7. That was in March. We now have 8 Hyline, 1 Hybrid, and 2 Bantam Lavender Cochins. These are the Hens. We have a young Sexling Rooster named Bronson who is getting big enough now to be introduced to his ladies.
Because of the growing flock we now have converted the goat shed (since we no longer have goats) to another coop with 8 nesting boxes and 3 perches. This sits in a 100 x 100ft pasture. They all seem to be very happy.
We are now looking for a couple of fertilized Bantam Lavender Cochin eggs since one of them is brooding.
Glad to be a part of the group and expect to keep learning tips and tricks for our girls!
