Ok so hubby brought home the pitifullest (yes that's a word) bunch of hens. I figure they're probably a bunch of barnyard mix. There's a few game hens, and some red mixes but there's a few that have me intrigued...
Chicken A:
400

400

The comb is hard for me to figure out. Is it just a floppy single?

Chicken B:
400

400

Chicken C:
400

Chicken D:
400

Thanks in advance! You guys are always great!

A---I've seen similar combs mixing large straight combs and pea combs. She could be an EE mix, or a Super Blue Egg Layer, something like that. You'll know when she lays

B--Mixed breed. Pink skin and feathered shanks make me think Marans, but could easily be combos of other breeds. The white tends to obliterate other colors, so once you put that in the mix it's hard to say what else may be lurking.

C--could be a black sex link, could be any black x red cross.

D--not an Australorp, looks to have a rose comb? Body looks more Wyandotte-ish, not sure what you'd cross one with to get a solid black bird. But that rose comb is dominant, so I'm thinking you've probably got mixes of mixes.

Thank you guys!!! Got a bunch of mutts but I can't wait to see how they shape up once they get some TLC!

Good catch on the rose comb on D. I enlarged the pic and see it now:D

Well, you've got a pretty mix of mixed birds:D. Good news is they will probably lay eggs and they will taste like chicken, if you go that route:D
