We suspect an infected peck wound...

We just discovered this infected lobe today on our 5 month old barnevelder. She was cowering a bit and just sitting in the run when she was left in peace by the older chickens. We just cleaned the area with neosporin, put Bag Balm on and have her in a separate area where she is eating well and drinking. Anyone have any suggestions of other things to do? Do you think this is the sort of wound that will heal? The area is puffy and almost greenish gray and looks quite different than the other side of her head.

Awww...poor thing. If you keep any antibiotics on hand (tylan, or even amoxicillin if you have the capsules), I'd probably give her some of that. Other than that, keep the area clean, and keep her from being picked on...that's all I can think of.
