Lol We have our first crested chickens, Mottled Houdans!Yayayayayaya! But when we got home some one asked 'I thought they had 5 toes?' and sure enough, the one she was holding only had 4 toes! So we checked the other one and she has 5 toes. Lol So is it usual that they some times come with four toes? Just curious, they wont be show birds or any thing, just back yard pets.

Not uncommon. Polydactyly has a wide range of expression. Unless you told the breeder you wanted birds for showing or that meet the standard, missing a toe is no big deal.

Also to note - Hatchery/poor quality Houdans and Houdan crosses are VERY common.
