I'm so sad to see this thread. I'll miss Deerman. He was always there with a kind word and helpful advice. My heart goes out to his family in this sad time.

People such as Burt never leave us completely. Very evidently we all have been impacted by him, and he will live on in our collective memories. Nominate him for 'BYC Friend' - it's recognition that he should have been given long ago.

my daughter little blue just showed me this.he was probaly her favorite person on here he was always willing to help an answer any questions she had.she as i was is very sadened by this he was a very caring an great man.i cant tell you how many times my daughter tried to get me to drive her to ohio to see his birds lol.he will be missed but never fogoten his knowldge has been passed on through all who meet him that is truely the sign of a great man an that he was.

Redhen, on the thread Light a Candle for Deerman and perhaps others members did pour out their hearts to Deerman as he went through his illness and treatments. I believe he knew how much he was appreciated and that we all loved him.

BYC Friend nomination would be a wonderful tribute to his memory. I have no idea how to do it but will certainly participate if someone can get it started.

I had a question and wrote an email for deerman asking him for more advice about my peas. When I was done I realized that he was no longer there to answer it. I saved the email, seemed the right thing to do. Everytime I come to this forum I think of him and yes I wonder how many people besides me has he touched. I bet he is happy now knowing just how many he did. I miss you Deerman and I bid on Cameo eggs on Ebay. I know what you would've said to me for doing it! LMAO!

BYC friends

I have had the opportunity to communicate with the Craft family the last couple days. They have been able to see the impact that Burt had on everyone at the forum. I know Burt also knew he had so many friends on BYC that loved him. I can also let everyone know that the birds Burt had and loved are all fine and healthy. If anyone would like to send a card or other item to the Craft family directly, please PM me as I have their contact info and will give it out through PM.
