I had 6 chicks hatch last night/this morning. 5 are bouncing around & active!

Number 6 is laying on its side and barely moving. Should I do anything? Here is a pic, I’ve moved the egg in the pic away from it to give it space.

Let him/her dry off, then put him/her in the brooder. It can be normal for chicks not to start walking till a couple of days or even a week after hatching. I've had it before. She was laying on her side, shaking and not moving or chirping. It took a week and 1/2 before she started to get up and walk without falling over. She's a little behind on developing, but doing great! She hatched on April 9, 2022. Dip the chicks beak in some egg water and give her/him some electrolytes and healthy foods. You might have to help the chick kind of re learn how to walk if they didn't start already as babies... She's the chick laying down by the ducklings.. Hope that helped! :wee

I'd put him a in a little container with a rag inside so he's not flipping on his side or back.
Congrats on your hatch! :celebrate:jumpy
He is laying on his side now. One leg is shaking on & off. Moving a little better than before but hasn’t stood up yet. Still moving its beak, maybe still absorbing yolk?

Would this work w a tissue? I don’t have a rag here at school… and how would I sit him? Just place gently in?
Also, once I cleared out a space in the incubator, he finally moved a bit and stood wobbly for a few seconds. Now resting on his belly. Maybe I’ll wait a bit longer & see? Not on its side or back anymore. I wonder if the other chick hurt it when it stepped on him.

I wouldn't do anything until the chick is completely dry. It can take some of them some time to find their legs. They can be exhausted from hatch, and it takes some time to recover. They are ok for 3 days on the yolk they absorbed, so no need to try to get it to eat and drink right away.
