long story short, i lost my 3 ducks to what seems like a weasel (i made a thread in the “ducks” forum) We live in New Hampshire. Near some woods, a brook, and a meadow. So anything thats native to NH and lives in what I described. It chewed the necks of my ducks and is probably living in the woods or under the barn (there are many holes that need patching this spring)

Here are the tracks i found:

Any ideas on how to catch this thing?
We’ve never had a weasel or small predator problem before..

Thanks,
Emma

Those are definitely weasel tracks seeing as they are bounding in motion. I actually trap these to supplement my income. Use a live trap, put in a can of cat food, and wait. I place them by bushes near my woods.
Thanks! Will definitely try that!
Supplement you income? What do you do with then after you trap them? We were planning on....Euthanizing it... lol

Rat trap inside a wood box like a shoebox. Have a hole for it to get in and a removable top. Place can of cat food or tuna on far end of box. Set trap so weasel must cross over to get food. Close top. Place by coop.

Weasel or mink. Result is the same....both will kill your birds....but due to scale, method of trapping them is different. A mink requires a much larger trap.

What is the distance between the tracks? Looks to be larger than a weasel from here.

If you can setup a game camera, it will help ID the culprit.....which is important if you want to catch it.
