Weasel vs. Chickens vs. Pigs?

I will take a weasel or mink over rats any day. I want to know who made it illegal to hunt with ferrets in the us. My wonderful ratter passed away a few months ago and now we have a rodent population explosion. He even managed to kill moles by pounce and dig and chased down a couple of wild rabbits. The best part was he would catch and kill them, then go looking for the next one. A huge relief since he never had any interest once they were dead; no interest in the poultry chicks either.

That weasel is gone, so the territory is now open for one to move in. If it's a roch territory it won't take too long. If that one was a male there very well could be a female around. Depending on the food supply they can take 2 weeks to cover their territory before they start all over again. Of he gets in your coop I think you'll be lucky to have chickens still alive in the morning. They are tiny, build to fit in mice holes, so definitely no hole bigger than 1/2 × 1/2 inch, even that...
