I purchased a coop kit,yet to be assembled. I live in Florida and am wondering if I should apply some waterproofing to the coop. Is Thompson's WaterSeal safe for chickens? Is it necessary?

Welcome to BYC!
Stop, hold that thought.
What coop kit did you buy?

Many are really not what they are advertised to be.
False claims of number of birds that will fit.
No ventilation, which you will really need.
They are most often cheap, flimsy materials that certainly will need some weather proofing...but you may want to seriously asses the kit before you open the box.
