My dad wants me to look up some websites of good waterer and feeder sellers. I figured you guys would know a few. Anyone know of any?

Also he wants me to ask if you can use a plastic waterer on a heater? Is this possible or will it melt? Thanks for any advice!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I've found it's easier (and cheaper) to break ice or give them fresh water twice per day during the winters because we get well below zero temps with frequent power outages & we have fuses blow because we're not set up to run the electric fence, horse water de-icer and a ton of heat lamps for the coop AND the dog water de-cier AND chicken water de-icers! Whew!

Randall Burkey has a heater that is safe for a plastic waterer and it works down to 10F. Or McMurray Hatchery's website.

You can also try eBay...

I like Randall Burkey too.I also like Strombergschickens.com,their prices include shipping on products.I have one of strombergs fount heaters(electric heater base)#EHB and It is awesome. I bought a bunch of 3 gallon plastic fount#PF3 and they work ok but sometimes if it's really cold the top 3-4 inches freezes.I then found another fount that was fatter on the bottom but shorter in length so it took more room up on the heater and that works best.(not sure where I got it maybe TSC)Stay away from #PPF 5.5 and #PPF 7.7 they are junk.
Yes you can use some plastic founts(they should say)I don't like metal because I use apple cider vinegar and it will eat away the galvanized coating. And besides water out of metal don't taste good.
Hope this helps your search,If you got any questions on anything you can PM me anytime.Winter is on it's way so talk your dad into a fount heater. good luck Will
