Weeds in the run

My run has TONS of weeds.. its not overgrown. but there is plenty.. i moving my month and a half olds in tomorrow.. should i weed it first? i really dont want to! Would anything be poisonous?

But I think that its good for chicks to have plants to scratch around with.

I've never weeded for my chickens, even the young ones, and I've never had any get sick from eating anything. If they try something and don't like it, they won't eat it. If they do like it well, consider it gone

I seriously doubt that there is any toxic weeds in there. Any labor you put into weeding it before they go in there will be wasted labor. It will give your chickens something to do and they will be more than happy to turn that run into a weed free, grass free, anything green free environment.

Only thing I would look for is anything with thorns. Don't want those little feet getting hurt. My girls love weeds. The grands are always pulling them for me to feed to the chickies.
