Week 1 Complete

So i started with 6 silkie eggs and already down to two

I bought the eggs off eBay and the incubator came late so they were already like about 7 days old before they got put into the incubator. I'm just about to go into day 9 and the last two seem fine so far.

It seems as if they are doing somersaults in their shells lol, its so fun to look at. I cracked open the other four and sure enough there was nothing in them

I know its a very small number of eggs to start with for a first hatch but i will be ecstatic to even have one hatch. The temp seems to be holding perfectly fine and humidity seems to be holding fine at about 35 - 45 on the hydrometer.

Everything seems to be going fine so far and hopefully things will stay this way.

Good luck! my first hatch ever was one duck egg and i was just as happy, besides mine are pets so i devoted all the time to him and he was awesome

As for the eggs being 7 days old when you started incubating, that's not a problem as long as you turn them while stored they should be fine, i have hatched 12-14 days old eggs and they hatched perfect! Hoping for a good hatch
