I have 6 pullets, one week old and doing great until this morning when I noticed my speckled sussex toes bleeding (one on each foot) and one appears to be broken. She was the smallest of them all from the beginning. Now she is very weak and lethargic. I cleaned her toes with soap/water and put Neosporin on. They are in a big horse trough with a red heat lamp. I have separated a portion of it with chicken wire and put her with a day old chick I just got for company. I 'm worried she is not going to make it, there was quite a bit of blood on the shavings at least it seems for one little chick to lose. Any suggestions of anything else I can do for her? Thank you!

Sounds like you're doing all the right things! You might want to also try putting a little Sav-A-Chik in the water for the little one. You can get it at most feed stores; it's like powdered electrolytes that help restore their energy. I've also given them Pedialite (that stuff for human babies) when I ran out of the powdered stuff. Also watch her to make sure she's drinking, it doesn't take much for them to get dehydrated. if she's not, or you're worried she isn't, then give her a little water with a spoon or eye dropper.

Thank you. I added some sugar to the water and have been dipping her beak in to make her drink, still not eating that I have seen. I will go in the morning to get the electrolyte powder. Her little blue-laced red Wyandotte friend is doing a good job of cuddling with her :) I hope she makes it.

Thank you! She was up running around this morning like her old self, peeping, eating and drinking!! I went and got the electrolyte/vitamin mix anyway just to be safe. I really thought she wasn't going to make it last night, I guess she just needed a good night's sleep! Here is a pic of her this morning. I also realized she isn't a speckled sussex, she's the silver laced Wyandotte! Thanks for the advice!
