week old chick very weak

Yeah, unfortunately. And if he didn't pass now it might've been some other disease. Since I let mine free range they really do need healthy immune systems. And it's not like the chicks were kept in filthy conditions. He was kept in a clean area with everything he should've needed to survive. If he couldn't handle the small amount of exposure he DID get then it's probably not a good sign anyways.

I'm getting first aid kit on the third. Since the other chicks are doing well I'll probably switch them to non-medicated feed in the next few days.

Called the store, they were bought from Mt healthy hatchery.

I'm going to call tomorrow in store hours (they guy who was there was just an accountant) he said they'd be able to help me.

Unfortunately little chickie passed away this morning.

Sadly it just took too much out of him to live. I'd lie if I said it wasn't a little bit of a relief. His last day was very sad to watch.

It's okay. The others are happy and healthy so I'm switching back to normal feed. They are running around jumping on everything and anything. If it warms up they might get to venture outside for a little bit.

So very sorry for your loss. It always hurts so when something like this happens. You tried your very best.

I did, and it's just very sad he didn't make it.

He spent his last night warm and comfy, though, and that's the only solace I can give him. I still have 5 healthy chicks left that do have a chance and seem to be thriving despite the misfortune of the other three chicks.
