Bought chicks 2 days ago at feed store. Little rir is my favorite. We call her singer girl because her peeps sound like a meadow lark. When she chirps she always sits back stretches up and pumps her little wings. But I'm worried. Most chicks ended up with pasty butt today. After I washed her tushy she just slept but keeps waking to peep then back to sleep. Is she ok? Why is she chirping so differennntly from others?

Singer girl is also my only chick that doesn't peep when I pick her up. Don't know if she's sweet or sick. She just crawled...not walked to a different spot in brooder and drank water. Then her funny chirp and off to sleep

Singer girl died this morning. :( I wonder if her funny chirping was really her showing some sort of stress

Sorry for you loss. Sometimes they do a funny chip because they're have poop built up inside from having pasty butt. Pasty butt always needs to be removed and often you need to squeeze the poop out of them, too. Find a video of the show "Dirty Jobs" where they show how to sex chicks, that should show how to squeeze the poop out...
