Hi there,
I have a week old chick that's showing signs of egg yolk infection, not active, eyes closed, not eating and won't leave the heat. Dripping, snot like poops Slightly swollen abdomen, with purplish skin. I thought it might have had minor pasty butt but after rinsing the area, I noticed the color of the skin. The navel area is clean and normal looking.
I've read up on it here, if it is mushy chick, there doesn't seem to be much I can do, ls there? Could it be anything else? She still will fight briefly when I pick her up and set her down.
Edit: She passed away. There was nothing to be done when she was that far gone.

If anyone can verify that this chick died from a yolk infection, I'd like to contact to hatchery asap. And see what they say, after a day, any deaths a fall under improper care but we'll see.
