week old chicks

the chicks are a week old now they seem to be ok (touch wood) I tried to lower the temp from 34 29 but i found all the chicks huddled together under the lamp tonight what should i do ?

Put the lamp closer.

yh i moved it down now but i thought i needed to lower the temp ?

When i lower the temp in my brooder i have found that some times they huddle together for a while till they get used to the adjustment, but with in a few hours they seem ok again. This is my observation with my chicks, i am no way an expert.

Nights are getting colder, maybe raise it a little during the day and lower it at night?

That's what I did. Although I did it when they were about 3-4 weeks. We had warm days - I turned it off during the heat of the day, then back on at night.
